About

Lauron Red Angus

Our Operation

Raising seedstock since 1984.

Our focus is on our females. We strive for perfect udders and feet, fertility, longevity, disposition, and easy doing cattle. They are raised without creep feed on native pastures, and take advantage of swath grazing during the winter months.

A strict culling regime ensures a strong maternal base which, in turn, enables us to provide profitable bulls for our customers. We host a Bull Sale each April, and consign females to prominent Angus sales in Alberta. Of course, animals are also for sale privately off the farm.

Our Story

Century Farm.JPG

Lauron Red Angus was founded in 1984 with a small herd of commercial and pedigreed females purchased from Laurie's parents' Alalta Red Angus herd and select female auctions. Many of the original cow families such as Blackbird, Dalmistu, Missy, Morojiti, and Kuruba are still prominent in the herd today, numbering 200 breeding matrons.

In 2020, we were awarded the Alberta Century Farm award for 100 years of family farming on the original Worrall homestead.
